Memories of an Eternal Flower
Gabriela Cardona & Sergio Valdez

“A reconstructed imaginarium of my grandmother’s memories and stories with the help of AI.”

About the film

Black and white contact sheet with profile photos of a young woman, showing different hairstyles and expressions.

From an early age, I documented conversations and moments with my grandmother María Luisa. After she turned 100 and departed this world, I decided to explore the lost fragments of her story. Using Artificial Intelligence and archival material to weave together the memories of what I believe was her life in her youth, exploring generational memory as an act of healing in the face of loss.

A woman in a red dress stands with her back to the camera, gazing at a foggy coastal landscape with cliffs, a beach, and the ocean.
A dining table set with glassware, cups, plates, and a bottle of wine in a sunlit room with decorated curtains and chairs.
