Transform your photos into ceramics!
What if your photos could become… ceramics?
Over the last few months, I’ve been obsessed with a simple question:
What would this photo transform into with other materials?
As a photographer, filmmaker, and AI creator, I’ve always been drawn to textures, cracked stone, glossy tiles, soft porcelain glazes. So when the opportunity came up to collaborate with Freepik on a new Space Template, I knew exactly what I wanted to explore: turning regular photos into surreal, ceramic-like worlds.
Today, I finally get to share it with you. 🏺✨
Introducing: “Try new materials” – my new Space on Freepik
I’ve partnered with Freepik to create a Space Template called “Try new materials”.
The idea is simple:
Take a photo you already love:
a selfie, a product shot, or a memory from your camera roll,
and let AI reshape it as if it were made from ceramics, stone, or other tactile materials.
Think:
Porcelain-like glazes with soft reflections
Cracked clay and rough stone that feel sculpted by hand
Glossy tiles that look like they belong in a dreamlike bathroom or gallery
Soft, surreal lighting that makes everything feel slightly otherworldly
The result is a blend of photography, 3D vibes, and digital ceramics: all done through AI.
How it works (step by step)
You don’t need 3D skills or complex software. It all happens inside Freepik’s Spaces.
Here’s how to use the template:

Go to the Space Template on Freepik
Look for the Space titled “Try new materials” (or click here).Upload your image
Portraits / selfies
Objects or product shots
Scenes and environmentsThe more defined the subject, the more fun the transformation.
Choose the material and mood
Inside the Space, you can adapt the prompt to match the vibe you want:Cracked marble, stone, or clay
Porcelain with glossy glazes
Rough textures vs. smooth surfaces
Dreamy, cinematic or ethereal lighting
Let the AI reimagine your photo
With a single prompt, your image is transformed into a ceramic-like world. You can tweak the prompt, re-roll, and push it into more surreal or minimal directions.
It’s a playful way to re-discover photos you thought you were “done” with.
Ideas you can try
If you’re not sure where to start, here are a few creative directions:
Turn a selfie into a cracked marble bust
Like a statue from a forgotten museum: but it’s you.Transform product shots into clay sculptures
Perfect for artists, brands, or small businesses that want something more artistic than a traditional mockup.Rebuild your favorite memories as ceramic tiles
Imagine a travel photo, a family moment, or a beloved place reinterpreted as a tiled mural.Give your portfolio a tactile twist
If you’re a photographer or designer, you can mix these ceramic versions alongside your original photos for a more experimental, mixed-media feel.
This Space is meant as a playground for artists, creators, and anyone curious about what AI can do, or use it as a creative block antidote!
